The first grade students used paper, oil pastels, and paint to create these snow-covered row homes. We began by looking of pictures of Georgetown row homes located near school. We talked about the different colors and architectural details that we saw. We cut the paper for the buildings, roofs, windows, and doors. From there, they could add shutters, moldings, etc. with paper for more detail. Window panes, flower pots, and shingles were added with oil pastels. The last step was to dot the sky and roofs with white paint.
