The second grade students made sheep by blowing bubbles to create a texture like sheep fleece. I mixed black tempera paint, water, and dish soap into yogurt containers and gave each student a straw. They blew bubbles through straw until they rose above the rim of the cup. Then, they pressed a piece of paper into the bubbles. They repeated the steps over and over until their entire paper was covered in bubble texture. While these dried, they used oil pastels to color a background. Finally, we cut the bodies of our sheep out of the bubble paper and added a face and legs to finish the project.
