Pre-Kindergarten Wax Resist Painting

This week the pre-k students experimented with the wax resistance of crayons. For our first painting, we covered our papers in white crayon. Our drawings looked invisible at first, but began to appear as the paint soaked into the paper but rolled off the crayon. For the second picture, we colored in colored crayon and added paint to see how it reacted with the colors. Again, the wax of the crayon kept the paint from covering their drawings.
