Over the holiday break, the school hosts a homeless shelter. Each year, the pre-k students make placemats for our guests to use at meal time. They began by decorating both sides of a green construction paper triangle with crayon. We stuck this christmas tree shape in the center of a piece of contact paper, sticky side up. Then, we filled the rest of the sticky spaces with colorful squares of tissue paper. Once the entire area was filled, another piece of contact paper was placed on top to seal everything in.
