3rd Grade Pirates

Every year, the third grade students spend a good chunk of time studying the ocean. As a fun way to finish this unit, we made pirate self-portraits. The students could get as silly as they wanted with facial hair, earrings, and hook hands. We drew the majority of the project in crayon, then added tempera paint at the end for a finishing touch.
