For Valentine’s Day, the pre-k students made marbleized valentines. They each started with a square of paper with a heart taped in the middle of it. Using tempera paint, they painted the entire page (heart included). Next, they each got a few dollops of pink paint in the middle of their page. Using a spoon and a few marbles, they pushed the paint around the page to “marbleize” it. The finishing touch was to sprinkle on some gold glitter. Once everything was dry, the hearts were pulled off to let the white paper underneath show through.
